Delafruz Baghirova is a contemporary artist working across batik and painting. Her practice brings traditional textile techniques into dialogue with a contemporary visual language, shaped by symbolism, rhythm and emotional depth.
Her work explores beauty, identity and transformation through references to nature, sacred geometry and archetypal forms. One of her recurring motifs is the pomegranate, which appears as a symbol of memory, vitality and cultural continuity. Her use of deep royal and sky blues creates a sense of calm, clarity and inner space.
Baghirova has presented her work internationally across Europe, Asia and the United States, including at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. In 2023, her series Stained Glass of Prague, inspired by the cathedral windows of St Vitus, received several awards and strengthened her position within contemporary textile-based fine art.
