Alienship is a Spectrum by Olesya Gonserovskaya

Exhibition, workshop, and a mini lecture

This series of collages by artist Olesya Gonserovskaya paraphrases the well-known saying that gender is a spectrum. The artist playfully reflects on this idea: “What on earth is not a spectrum?” Or beyond Earth as well, as everything is relative. There is no such thing as a pure, singular state. At the same time, feeling protective of one’s identity as the only acceptable one is natural for all of us. Regrettably, this does not support communication or connection. This creative workshop with the artist and/or a mini lecture by a philosopher or psychologist (the person for this role could be discussed first) offers a starting point to explore diversity within a group. It provides an opportunity to address intolerance and minor relationship challenges in an easygoing way, revealing how art can have an actively healing role. The goal is to release internal limitations and embrace the Other in colleagues as well as in oneself, supported by artistic practice. The playful format of the workshop keeps the experience engaging. No hard feelings, just collaboration, exchange of ideas, collage-making, and enjoyment of the freedom of acceptance. The workshop process is conducted in one of the most environmentally friendly ways possible. Ecological communication will also be encouraged. We cannot guarantee warm hugs and lasting friendships by the end of the event; however, we will do our best to make the experience playful, joyful, and meaningful.

Diary products

Exhibition of Olesya Gonserovskaya’s Diary Products series, accompanied by a tea ceremony and a workshop. This series is designed to inspire viewers to create their own diary using a nonverbal approach. The method is simple: all you need is half an hour and your own experience to reflect on. There is no need for a predefined mindset or fully formed thoughts to begin this process of reflection. Ephemera—printed materials created for practical, short-term use, such as tickets or menus—can serve as a base or starting point for deeper recollection of the day, or simply as a surface for visual exploration. The goals vary from participant to participant. However, many report a renewed appreciation for the value of everyday life, the creation of a meaningful personal archive, and the discovery of new details within one’s own experience.
